Hello list,

I have two unrelated questions;

1) I've just completed a new dbmail install with dbmail 3.1.7 (-V says 3.1.6, but I seem to recall this is a known issue). dbmail and the database (postgres) are running on separate servers. The connection is specified in dbmail.conf like this:

dburi = postgresql://1.2.3.4/dbmail?user=dbmail&password=*******

When the database connection hickups, dbmail starts giving this error: database has gone away. The problem is that even after the database is back up again, the connection is never re-established. I need to manually restart dbmail to get the system to work again. Is there anyway to get dbmail to retry the connection?

2)
And I have an older production system with a lot of email (~ 150GB/ few hundred accounts) running on 2.2.17 with mysql as the underlying DB. Migrating all the data at once does not seem to be an option for me, as the downtime would be too high. However I have a smtp/imap/pop3 proxy setup that allows me to migrate separate mailboxes at a time. I've tried using a few different imap-syning tools, but I'm getting really bad performance (and I mean *really* bad). So i was wondering if there are any tools that will let me migrate the data in a more direct way (across dbmail-versions and different databases). If not, I'm probably going to write a migration script myself. Any hints for what to look out for?

Regards,
Marius Karthaus
