Well, authentication is done by an LDAP bind, so you must use the uid or cn value in LDAP, depending on your DN structure. uid=matt,ou=Users,dc=domain,dc=org [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] uid=matt cn=Matt But usermap to the rescue (doc/README.usermap) say you insert into dbmail_usermap: login | userid ----------------+----------------- [email protected] | matt now you can login to IMAP with login [email protected], and dbmail will resolve this and bind to DN: uid=matt,ou=Users,dc=domain,dc=org > The username is added with the first imap login as the mailbox, which I > would like to have as the emailaddress.
