A shared folder is just another folder. The performance is very much
dependent on the speed and health of the database back-end.
Searching such a folder is not very fast, especially if body searches
are involved. Those would trigger a full table scan. Speeding up
body-searches - or search in general - would probably require adding an
external indexer, like SOLR. Adding SOLR to the mix would speed up
search dramatically. But again: no specific plans, just ideas.
