The only reason why I want to compile cyrus is because the instructions
are on the web:
http://www.dbmail.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/smtp_auth:postfix
Also said to be compiled with certain options, I figured I would not
precompiled package.
Moreover, since last message, I try to use the repositories version, but
I can't authenticate... All that I made was:
Install cyrus-sasl packets:
aptitude install libsasl2-2 sasl2-bin libsasl2-modules-sql
Set START=yes on /etc/default/saslauthd.
Change this on my postfix config:
postconf -e 'smtpd_sasl_local_domain ='
postconf -e 'smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes'
postconf -e 'smtpd_sasl_security_options = noanonymous'
postconf -e 'broken_sasl_auth_clients = yes'
postconf -e 'inet_interfaces = all'
postconf -e 'smptd_sasl_type=cyrus'
For testing the authentication I use this commands:
perl -MMIME::Base64 -e 'print
encode_base64("[email protected]\[email protected]\0hola");'
where I take a result something like this:
FpbWUuY29tAGphaW1lLmNvbQBob2xh
openssl s_client -starttls smtp -crlf -connect mydomain:25
AUTH PLAIN FpbWUuY29tAGphaW1lLmNvbQBob2xh
I create this user with:
dbmail-users -a [email protected] -w hola -s [email protected]
I don't know where is the mistake but, my authentication fails...
Can anyone help me? Thanks!!

I'm following this link to avoid authentication on my dbmail server, but I
can't compile cyrus SASL2, i tried with
versions 21.26 and 2.1.23.

So, because im having difficulties, and this packet is on the debian
repository, may I use them instead? Someone
used it?
is there a reason why you want to compile it yourself?
cyrus SASL is mandatory for postfix in case of smtp CLIENT, means
authenticate against a final destination, so if your postfix package
is sane it is still using cyrus SASL and finally your distribution
has the packages and most likely you have installed them
depeding on your distribution you need not only the pure
"cyrus-sasl" but also subpackages for several auth-mechs
in that case avoid gssapi packages - they lead in my case to
fail authenticaton with MS exchange and after uninstall postfix
happily use mechs working on bith sides
