No sé exactamente porque no funcionaba pero realicé nuevamente los siguientes pasos de cero y funcionó perfectamente.
1. Verificar en el SQL Server Surface Area Configuration que esté habilitado en Remote Connections la opción Local and remote connections using TCP/IP Only. 2. En el SQL Server Configuration Manager verifiqué que esté habilitado TCP/IP y en la página TPC/UIP Properties en IP1 esté Active=True y Enabled=True 3. Bajé y reinicié los servicios de SQL Server y SQL Server Browser Properties. Muchas gracias a Sonia por el manual que me pasó y a todos los que respondieron. Sds.
