We have never observed that problem on Linux, and I've never tried to
compile on Windows, so I'm not sure I can help you right now. However,
stack overflow has some suggestions if you search for "unmappable
character" and add combinations of "windows", "maven" and "java"
Did you try to add "<encoding>UTF-8</encoding>" to the main or the core
pom.xml?
