Thanks for the clear question and the progress report.
I assume that you are ensuring the same confidence and support parameters
in both?
I think the difference is due to the fact that in the demo we use a larger
spotter dictionary than yours:
surface_forms-Wikipedia-TitRedDis.thresh3.spotterDictionary
