I have downloaded and experimented with both the Jar distributions. The 'statistical' version is really fast (< 500ms), but not as complete. The standard version is better (IMO), but comparatively slow at ~3500ms for simple two sentence annotation. I am using the medium dictionary and index. It doesn't appear to be CPU or IO bound (not much activity during the requests). I've tried sending simultaneous requests , but it doesn't seem to be multi-threaded so there's no speed increase. I've assigned > 10G ram to the jar *and* copied the index to a RAM disk. Both of these techniques resulted in a modest speed increase.
- Any suggestions to speed the annotation? - Is using a WAR + Tomcat faster? Thanks for any advice... -mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Introducing Performance Central, a new site from SourceForge and AppDynamics.
