dbpprop:latDeg etc are only used on EN wikipedia, and they are used on very
few pages, as you can see here:
http://mappings.dbpedia.org/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=latmin
Only pages using templates Infobox NS-station and Infobox constellation
(even commented out on the latter).

To be more precise: these properties are only recognized in 1-2 mappings
(from infoboxes to geo:lat, long).

In contrast, GeocoordinatesMapping is used in very many mappings:
http://mappings.dbpedia.org/index.php?title=Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:G
eocoordinatesMapping&limit=500
Between 500 and 1000 mappings.

You can verify it works ok e.g. here:
http://mappings.dbpedia.org/server/mappings/en/extractionSamples/Mapping_en:
Geobox

Geobox is used very widely, in tens of thousands of pages:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Geobox
You can see its mapping at
http://mappings.dbpedia.org/index.php/Mapping_en:Geobox

If you find a page that doesn't have geo:lat, geo:long but should:
- check what template it uses
- check if there's a mapping for that template
