Dear DBpedia community,

the Semantic Computing Group at Bielefeld University has developed a new Question Answering system over Knowledge Graphs that is based on grammars that are automatically generated from lemon [1] lexica. The system is available here:

https://scdemo.techfak.uni-bielefeld.de/quegg/

The system relies on automatically generated grammars to offer auto-completion functionality. It has been designed so that it can easily be ported to other languages and other datasets by extending the coverage of the grammar generation as well as adding further lexical entries to the lexicon.

We are organizing a virtual hackathon in the week of July 5th - 9th. The hackathon will give you the opportunity to get acquainted with our framework and approach to QA, and to port the system to your own datasets or work on adding support for a new language.

As prerequsites you should have knowledge about RDF and SPARQL and be able to program in Java.

You will find the relevant information on the hackathon here: https://hackathon.semanticcomputing.de

On the page above you will find suggestions for tasks to work on during the hackathon.

The method used for generating grammars from lemon lexica is described here: http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-2722/nliwod2020-paper-2.pdf

Please register for the hackathon until June 18th using this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe7cFaQavZQPFi3itBQOepUstANTUPRW_7A0OiZRi2lN_m7Ig/viewform

The hackathon is supported by the project Pret-A-LLOD [2] as well as by the Nexus Linguarum Cost Action [3].

We are looking forward to working with you
