Hopefully this isn't a completely ridiculous question: On pgs. 45-46 of the new Dead bio _A_Long_Strange_Trip_, author Dennis McNally describes the CSM (College of San Mateo) folk fest on November 10, 1961. Jerry, Robert Hunter, David Nelson, etc. were billed as the Hart Valley Drifters. My question: does this tape exist and circulate? McNally describes it as if it does, quoting Jerry's banter as if he (McNally) is transcribing it. It sounds like it would be an interesting tape to hear and I was wondering if it actually exists, or if McNally was just using another source's description of the events.
I could not find any mention on TheJerrySite.com nor any entries for the Hart Valley Drifters at etree.org. Cheers, Greg
