This Zappa tribute site

shows a poster for Zappa and Mothers of Invetion with the Dead on Friday,
June 21 in San Jose (top row, 3rd from left, click on thumbnail to expand)

June 21 fell on a Friday in 1968 and 1974. In '74 they were on the east
coast for 6/20 and 6/22 (no date listed for 6/21) so I'm guessing the poster
is for 6/21/68.

However, there's no date in Deadlists for the Dead playing anywhere on
6/21/68. However, they were at the Carousel on 6/19/68 and in Phoenix on
6/22/68 so it's certainly possible they could've played San Jose in between
those two dates.

I don't have McNally's or Blair Jackson's book handy to see if either of
them mention anything about it.

So - is this a previously unknown performance? Or could it be a show that
was cancelled?
