Hi all,
I 'm an (almost) Deal II absolute beginner.
I just installed the last version of Deal II (for Linux), and I
downloaded step-1.cc
How should I compile it ?
Obviously, something like
g++ step-1.cc -o step-1
is definitely not OK.
Their Makefile is too complex for me.
I play around with a copy of step-1.cc
I think I changed the output or something,
here is my Makefile:
# Makefile1 cp step-1.cc test1.cc and try modifications
# need export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$HOME/femdeal/deal.II/lib
LIBS=-L$HOME/femdeal/deal.II/lib \
-l deal_II_2d -l lac -l base
CFLAGS= -I$HOME/femdeal/deal.II/deal.II/include \
-I$HOME/femdeal/deal.II/base/include
test1.eps: test1.cc
g++ -o test1 $(CFLAGS) test1.cc $(LIBS)
test1
gs test1.eps
I compiled all the examples, be in deal.II/examples
make all
They did not tell you to go to lanl for graphics,
go get povray, etc. Finally I had all the graphics
programs and libraries and all examples compiled.
I killed one because it took too long.
Good luck,

Thank you very much, John, it's perfect now !
