Has anyone attempted to use deal.ii to solve problems where the
unknown field is a second order tensor?
The specific application I'm looking at is a complementary mixed
finite element formulation of plasticity where the nodal unknowns are
the Cauchy stress (a 2nd order tensor) and the scalar plastic
multiplier.
Would it be relatively easy to extend the FEValuesExtractors class to
2nd order tensors as it only handles scalars and 1st order tensors? If
so, I would be happy to give this a go.
