Dear Users, dear developers, I spent the last two days trying to solve our issues with the wiki. The only viable solution came from installing (again) another version of the wiki on our sourceforge account. This is particularly tricky, since there is very limited access to the sourceforge web server, but it had two nice drawbacks:
1. The new wiki is simply named: http://dealii.sourceforge.net/ which is nice, compared to the old one, and 2. anonymous editing is totally disabled. New users can register only after having solved a simple math problem (I think all of you should be able to do that... :P ...). This should prevent bots from flooding our wiki (which had happened previously). If this is not enough, I have installed other tools that should allow us to fine control what happens to the wiki... The current wiki (https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/dealii/) has been shut down (the data is still there, however). The main draw back is that you will have to register again. This is a one-step process, no email verification (unfortunately sourceforge web server does not allow us to use the email services). If you are willing to help me with the maintenance, (which I would really appreciate!!!) drop me a line and I'll make you administrator of the wiki. The usual suspects will get that right no matter what they say... :P ... I'm changing now all the references to the old wiki in the deal.II home page. I hope this is our last move, even though I becama pretty fast in duplicating wikis now...
