Hi all,
My lab recently decommissioned its computing cluster in favor of using
Oak Ridge's GAEA - I have not even begun to feel my way around it but I
am told the environment is very different than the one we had here. I am
the only one in my lab using deal.ii, and on the last 2 high-performance
systems I have used, I have had trouble doing a successfule
deal.ii/PETSc build and eventually had to ask someone who knew the
cluster very well and also knew what they were doing. I am very afraid I
won't be able to find that kind on dedicated expertise this time, at
least not on my own.
Are there any deal.ii users at Oak Ridge, or who use their computers? I
think the new GAEA system is just for climate-related simulation (hence
the name), so my guess is that anyone who can answer "yes" to the
previous question uses Jaguar. Still, just reaching out... to anyone who
may be able to offer useful information...
