Dear deal II users,

Is there a way to access higher than second order derivatives of
discontinuous shape functions?

I saw in the documentation that FEValuesBase can provide 1st and 2nd order
derivatives. If there is another class or a tutorial I haven't found where
this is demonstrated, please let me know.

Why this: The problem I am interested in is wave propagation and I read in
a paper that the accuracy of DG methods can be higher than the one of
spectral methods if the polynomial degree of the DG method is higher than
the order the time stepping scheme in the spectral method. However, the DG
method requires higher derivatives..

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Tom
