USA:

Doing a Death Penalty Claxton?s Way is Overkill!

I am always surprised when I read my name in someone else?s column. I am
flattered too, that anyone would think an opinion of mine is worthy of
agreement or rebuttal, or even mention. I have one ?e-pen pal? that has
called all columns in Useless-Knowledge.com ?trivial and censorious?. I
find that interesting.

Why would someone look at a murderer like double killer, O.J. Simpson, or
double killer, Mark Hacking, or the killer of more than 160 Oklahomans, Tim
McVeigh; shrug their shoulders and suggest it was okay; that we shouldn?t
judge the murderers; that we should keep them alive or outright free them;
or that we should allow them the freedom of prison life with three square
meals a day; be nice to them, write books about them and eventually release
them on parole if they promise to be good and never kill anyone ever again?

I would never say that.

Now, granted, O.J. Simpson was acquitted. So he gets away with murder. Oh!
Come on! Argue with me that he really didn?t do it. Tim McVeigh was
permitted a pleasant, drug induced exit from the real world; while the jury
still hasn?t been seated for the Hacking murders.

But a standard has been established. Everyone in America still gets a
trial. Now, I want to say everyone gets a FAIR trial, but there is nothing
fair about actual murderers being allowed to go free. If you have enough
money, or can get enough money to pay the lawyers who take money cases like
murders, then fairness does not enter in. It is all about winning and
building a reputation to make more money. So, only poor people get the
death penalty in America. Now, if those opposed to the death penalty really
wanted to completely thwart the system of justice that demands a life for a
life; they would all get together, take up a collection, and get all these
killers Johnny Cochran and a pair of ill fitting gloves. CASE DISMISSED!

I?m sorry. Murderers deserve to die. Murderers are not civilized people
needing understanding. Murderers are anti-social predators who do not care
one minute for innocence or morality. Someone must always be dead for a
murderer to feel satisfied.

It is interesting that anyone would want Osama Bin Laden on trial. He is a
proven killer that, if found in his cave tomorrow, should kiss a burning
flamethrower or the barrel of a Mark 19 Grenade Launcher. I would kiss the
soldier who pulled that trigger. (Yes, Yes, I know
that?s not very
Christian-like.) Let me just try to save all you liberals out there, that
just had the urge to condemn my faith in God again, some of your valuable
time.

If Bin Laden came to the U.S. for trial, liberal lawyers of the ACLU would
trip all over themselves to defend that rat-puke. Why? He?s worth over 30
Million Dollars; that?s why. With that kind of cash, he?d get probation.
His defense would be ?Brainwashed by Wahabbism?, which is probably already
a creditable defense.

Serial killers can pile up the grave stones. It doesn?t matter. ?No Death
Penalty?; because he was abused by his mother. Snipers can pick arbitrary
targets from the trunk of a sedan rigged as a snipers cage. ?No Death
Penalty?; because he was just a baby and Islam had nothing to do with it.

I?m sorry. People who plan out and execute executions for their own
personal pleasure; unless they are homicide bombers who always do the world
a favor by blowing themselves to hell while killing innocent women and
children; deserve the same fate as those bastardly cowards. In fact, we
have to stop all this humanitarianism in our execution of murderers by
taping a stick of TNT to each murderer?s chest, lighting a long fuse and
letting them sweat until BOOM! (Yes, Yes, I know, that?s the not being very
Christian thing again.)

I don?t know why Mr. Claxton Graham took my argument (which I really
thought was a private, off-line communication; silly me.) to such, if
you?ll excuse the pun, Overkill!

I agree that every state in the union should have its own code for dealing
with those who would murder its state?s citizenry. If the state code
insists on a death penalty, then get it over with. Why have death penalties
at all if you are going to allow killers 14 years of appeals? If you are
not going to have a death penalty, then figure out how you are going to
punish (or not) murderers, then punish them, or not.

So much hassle because, in America, there are a million laws (minor
exaggeration); and no one is enforcing any of them. Every new murderous
situation adds law, and still victims rot in graves while killers get food,
a roof and a spot on ?20-20?, ?DATELINE?, and ?Larry King Live?.

I said nothing to Claxton about ?adultery? (a whole lot of extra alimony),
?fornication? (withhold all anti-STD drugs for 6 months), ?disobedience to
parents? (a good whack on the ass), ?rape? (6 months in a cell with
?Bubba?), ?blasphemy? (God already has that one completely covered),
?perjury? (your book will not be allowed to be longer than Bill Clinton?s
?My Lie?) or ?bearing false witness against a neighbor? (same penalty as
last).

No. I didn?t mention any of that.

Nor did I mention the where or the when of executions. But Claxton?s idea
of making them public ?stoning and hanging? isn?t half bad at that! There
are a lot of people who are allergic to gun-smoke and the smell of burning
flesh. Gas might cause an increase in ?global warming? and would never be
acceptable to environmental liberals. We sure wouldn?t want to upset them.
Not only that, but stones and Ropes are recyclable! Hey! It?s a WIN, WIN!

As much as I like Claxton?s ideas though I do have to admit they are
?overkill?. I only told him that I believed murderers deserve what their
victims got. Anything less seemed wrong, and, as I was thinking about it;
it seems very anti- humanity to allow murderers to walk away from death.
But I?ll think more on that.

The United States is still a land of laws. Each state should be permitted
to deal with the most evil elements within its borders. We who do not live
in a state that has determined its form of capital punishment have nothing
to say until we move there and have a personal stake in those laws. Mr.
Graham worries about the one or two ?innocent? people that might fall
through the cracks the current liberal-leaning justice system is leaving
everywhere. Well, that is a valid care for sure. I am just as concerned
about the ones who get to kill again because their gloves did not fit after
being soaked and dried in the blood of the previous victims.

Just one last thing: Terry Nichols, today, was given 161 life sentences for
the 161 people he helped to kill in Oklahoma. Okay, the law spoke there
too. See Claxton? Not everyone dies in a state having a death penalty. But
Mr. Nichols now claims a faith in God and has asked forgiveness. (The Judge
was anything but forgiving in his statements.) But this is a good thing. We
Christians can forgive Mr. Nichols because he is truly repentant and has
turned his life over to God.

Mr. Nichols gave God the glory for sparing his life through the charity of
the jury. This was also proper, because in faith, a true Christian gives
thanks to God in everything.

So you see? Justice has been served; the life has been spared; and God gets
the glory! God receives no glory when people die and punishment is not
exacted. My personal opinion is that if Mr. Nichols is truly repentant and
truly trusting of God, he will surrender his life to the executioner as a
testament to that trust. I believe such a testimony would only serve to
bring more glory to God.

So Claxton has his very extremist view of capital punishment, leaning
toward the lenient; while I have my not as extremist (albeit humorous and
sarcastic) view of capital punishment, leading toward real justice.

You are all very free to draw your own conclusions. Pre-meditated murderers
deserve their day in court, followed by their last meal on their day of
justice. It is that simple.

About the Author: Michael John McCrae is an Independent, Conservative,
Christian who has been personally insulted as a voter because John Kerry
thinks the "Heart and Soul of America" lays in the "X-rated sexual
innuendo" of Whoopi Goldberg. Well, Michael McCrae thinks America is better
than that. Michael McCrae believes there is at least some morality left. So
Michael McCrae is going to leave this here (until after the election) as a
reminder to all of what John Kerry and John Edwards believe the Real
America to be. They believe America's "heart and soul" resides in the
"X-rated sexual innuendo" of Whoopi Goldberg. You can draw your own
