IRAN----13-year-old female gets death sentence
A 13-year-old schoolgirl has been sentenced to death in the town of
Marivan (northwestern Iran).
Zhila Izadi, 13 was condemned to death-by-stoning after giving birth to a
child in prison 2 weeks ago.
Izadi was accused of committing a moral sin and giving birth to an unholy
child.
Her un-named brother, 15, was also accused and sentenced to 100 lashes in
accordance with Islamic laws. He is currently in prison in Tehran awaiting
his punishment.
Under Islamic laws, females are sentenced to death for adultery, but males
are not. The names of male adulterers are not released by authorities.
On August 29, the Judiciary sentenced another female, Hajieh Esmaeel, to
death-by-stoning in the Iranian port city of Jolfa. Her fate remains
unknown.
On August 15, the Iranian regime publicly hanged Ateqeh Rajabi, 16, in the
Iranian town of Neka for her crime of act incompatible with chastity. Also
known as pre-marital sex.
The full shocking story of Atefeh Rajabi can be found at the Australian
Coalition Against Death Penalty webpage at:

Last month, the Iranian regime sentenced a 16-year-old Afghani boy Feyz
Mohammad, to execution by public hanging for alleged drug-trafficking.
As a party to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and
the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, Iran is bound
not to execute child offenders.
Both treaties provide that capital punishment shall not be imposed for
offences committed by persons under 18-years-of-age at the time of
committing the crime.
Since 1990, Iran has executed 10 child offenders.
Will the USA (The World Role Model for Human Rights) continue to keep
company with barbaric nations that execute child offenders?
