The Death Penalty Information Center in Washington, D.C. seeks interested candidates to fill the position of Information Specialist. The Center is a non-profit organization serving the media and public with analysis, research and information on capital punishment. The Specialist assists the Director in planning and carrying out the work of this national public interest organization. Responsibilities The primary responsibilities for this position include: a.. Overseeing and updating the Center's Web site b.. Managing requests for information on capital punishment from journalists, attorneys, legislators, students and the general public c.. Research and data collection for reports and Web pages d.. Presentations on the death penalty to student groups and other interested parties e.. Maintain databases of death penalty resources f.. Preparing financial reports. Qualifications Applicants for this position should possess: a.. Excellent communication and writing skills b.. Experience with computers, word processing, the Internet, and Web page development (programming not required) c.. Demonstrated interest in working on this issue d..
