See 'The Exonerated' This Month in Winston-Salem

"The Exonerated," a play that tells the stories of six
innocent people who spent years on death row before
being set free, will open tomorrow night, June 16, in
Winston-Salem and will be presented on several nights
through June.

The production's opening night will be a benefit for
the Darryl Hunt Project for Freedom and Justice, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to clearing people
who were wrongfully accused and assisting them in
returning to society after imprisonment. Hunt is a
Winston-Salem resident who spent 19 years in North
Carolina's prisons for a rape and murder he did not
commit.

The Exonerated is presented by the Blue Moon Theatre
Company in The Garage, 110 W. 7th St. in
Winston-Salem. Tickets are $10; $5 for students. Show
times are 7:30 p.m. on June 16, 18, 23 and 25; 9:30
p.m. June 17 and 24.
