TEXAS----new execution date
Melvin White has been given an execution date of Nov. 3; it should be
considered as a serious date.

ALABAMA ---- impending execution
EXECUTION DATE SET FOR AUGUST 4.
An August 4 execution date has been set for George 0 Sibley. The date was
set BEFORE the date he had for filing his last appeal, thus cutting off
the appeals process.
In 2002 his common law wife. Lynda Lyon Block was electrocuted for the
same crime, that of killing an Opelika policemen in a shootout. Sibley
claims he was not involved in the killing and that he was not legally
complicit in the officers killing. He states flatly he did not kill the
officer.
It is absolutely vital that you DO get involved. These politicians must
know you do not want your name attached to state murder.
1. Every main line denomination is against state killing.
2. For the State to kill violates not only the Faith Community but the
Reverence for Life which separates us from animals.

1. Mail in the letter to the Governor (sample letter attached).

Dear Governor:
Re: George 0. Sibley
We respectfully but firmly urge you to grant clemency to Mr Sibley who is
scheduled to be executed on August 4.
1 The state set the Execution date a day before the date for his appeal.
This closed his legal remedies unjustifiably,
2. He was NOT the person who killed the officer
3. He was not legally complicit in the killing. Moreover, his appeal,
based on the practice of jury override in Alabama, was not even considered.
It is important for you to consider that ALL the mainline Faith Communities
are increasingly and strongly against state killing. Do you really want to
be considered an enemy of the Faith Communities? A basic tenet that
separates us from the beasts is Reverence for life.
This, regrettably, seems something simply beyond the comprehension of the
Attorney General's office. We urge you to separate yourself from this
image.
