July 22 NORTH CAROLINA: Moore DA to seek death penalty 2 men will face the death penalty in the May shooting death of a Pinebluff welder. On Wednesday, District Attorney Maureen Krueger held a Rule 24 conference. The conference alerts the court, the defendants and defense lawyers that her office will try Justin Raynal Cotton and Martin Devon McMillan for capital 1st-degree murder. Donald Gray Sands, 43, was found May 12 with gunshot wounds in the head and shoulder, lawmen said. Sands was found in a vehicle that had run off the road and hit a tree on Gillespie Street in Addor. Cotton and McMillan were also charged with common law robbery, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Their next court date is scheduled for Aug. 4 in Moore County Superior Court. (source: Fayetteville Observer)
