JAPAN:

Japanese group calls for retrial of Catholic ex-boxer on death row


A Christian-led group has criticised Japan's Supreme Court for rejecting
the latest appeal for the retrial of an ex-boxer, Paul Iwao Hakamada, who
is on death row, convicted of murdering a family of 4, and who converted
to Roman Catholicism while in prison.
