just a quick note----re: the Steve Blow column in the Dallas Morning News which I posted earlier...... I want to emphatically state that I do NOT support life without parole as a mandatory sentencing alternative to the death penalty....I firmly believe life without parole to be a human rights violation....even if the name of life without parole were to be changed to a sentence of "death in prison" as Mr. Blow advocates, I would still oppose such a mandatory sentence.....the name of a mandatory life sentence is irrelevant to me....I oppose that sentence under any name.
