HC commutes death penalty of man convicted of triple murder
Taking note of his "young age", the Delhi High Court on Friday commuted a death
sentence, awarded to a 28-year-old man for murdering his pregnant wife and
parents, to life imprisonment.
Nitin Verma, who had stabbed to death his 6-month pregnant wife and foster
parents, had been awarded a death sentence by a trial court in September last
year.
The High Court, however, commuted the death penalty stating that the criteria
for awarding death penalty were not satisfied in the case, and that the
"possibility of his rehabilitation and reformation" was still there.
"No doubt triple murder has been committed by the convict in a gruesome and
diabolic manner, but it cannot be lost sight of the fact that this was not a
murder to satisfy any greed. The accused has no bad antecedents, neither is he
a hardcore criminal, an anti-social element or even an anti-national element,"
the court said.
The trial court in its order had noted that Nitin, who was allegedly having an
affair with his neighbour's daughter, had killed his wife and parents after
they had objected to the affair.
The prosecution had said that in the middle of the night of April 19, 2008,
Nitin had stabbed his pregnant wife, and parents multiple times. He had then
gone to a local park and called his cousin, saying that he had been in an
accident and needed help to return home.
The bodies were discovered by Nitin's uncle, who had gone to his house to
inform his parents about the accident.
Nitin was arrested after he failed to explain the bloodstains and injuries on
his hands. Later, he confessed to his crime. The knife was later recovered and
fingerprints on the knife were matched to Nitin's.
In his order awarding the death sentence, the sessions judge had called Nitin a
"live bomb" and a "menace to society", observing, "When he did not spare his
parents and wife, what respect would he show for the lives of others?"

Stand against beheadings
Beheading someone is sickening and vicious. Although it has been around for
centuries, todays civilized societies no longer use this form of punishment.
However Islamic fanatics still freely use decapitating people for perceived
insults to Islam and transgression. It is believed that yearly decapitations
are in the thousands. Many Muslims profess they are striving to take over the
entire world for Islam by any means. Submit to Islam and Sharia or else.
The following 3 verses, approving of decapitations are samples of what are
found in the Qur'an and Hadith. Does Islam proscribe the death penalty for
Muslims who wish to embrace another religion? The answer is absolutely YES.
Those who turn their back on Islam are to be executed. This is confirmed by the
words and deeds of Muhammad. "The only freedom of belief in Islam is the
freedom to become a Muslim." In AD 627, Muhammad ordered the beheading of some
600 men and boys.
Qur'an (4:89) - "Take not to yourselves friends of them, until they fly in the
way of Allah; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever
you find them."
Qur'an(5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His
Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is:
execution (by beheading), or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet
from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this
world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter."
Qur'an(8:12) - "I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite
ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off."
On June 27 a priest and another Christian were beheaded, before a cheering
crowd by Syrian insurgents who said they aided and abetted the enemy.
In a June issue, the Washington Times reported on a video showing 2 men with
hands tied, surrounded by a cheering crowd of dozens of people. After
decapitation with a small knife a head was lifted high for show.
The Associated Press reported that on May 22, Lee Rigby was hacked to death on
a London street, in broad daylight. The killing shocked Britain and much of the
world, especially when one of the suspects, believed to be a Muslim, while with
his hands still bloody and holding a cleaver, boasted of the attack on a video
widely broadcast by the media.
In September 2011, Somali Christians and human rights activists confirmed that
the body of Juma Nuradin Kamil, a kidnapped Christian who converted from Islam,
was found decapitated. He was last seen when 3 suspected members of the Islamic
group al-Shabab pushed him into a car.
In 2002 Daniel Pearl, a journalist with the Wall Street Journal was kidnapped
by Pakistani militants. In 2007, at a hearing In Guantanamo Bay, Khalid Sheikh
Mohammed admitted that he had personally beheaded Pearl.
NBC News reported that 2 boys aged 10 and 16, were beheaded by Taliban fighters
in Afghanistan. The boys were trying to trade yogurt and bread for leftover
food to bring to their family. The Taliban stated they did not like that they
were trading with police.
Reuters News reported that in May 2010, in the Philippines, a school teacher
was kidnapped and beheaded with a small knife.
In Syria, a 13-year-old boy, Badr Mohamad Sleibi, confessed to beheading an
officer. His uncle asked him to take the machete and behead the officer. Badr
was asked what do you say to your uncle after he made you a murderer and had
you sent to prison? "I say to him may God never forgive you."
This link is not only shocking because of the beheading but there is a crowd of
around 100 people cheering. In addition, about 10 of the on lookers were taking
videos with cell phones.
Hopefully, you are beginning to accept the fact that so many Islamic fanatics
and their leaders around the world condone murder and beheadings. They want to
force you to live by the Qur'an, Sharia law and their violent culture. If you
do not want to accept this, or have your children live by Islamic laws and
customs I very strongly urge you to stand up now and get involved before it is
too late.
