It is that time of year. We're looking for people interested in hosting a DebConf in 2020.
Submitting a proposal at this point does not commit you to anything, it just gets your foot in the door, before submitting a formal bid towards the end of the year. Anyone interested should contact Gunnar Wolf <gw...@debian.org> or the debconf-team list <debconf-t...@lists.debian.org>, so that you can present your bid on Saturday [0]. [0]: https://debconf18.debconf.org/talks/126-debconf20-in-your-city/ The proposal presentations don't need to be very complete, all you really need is: 1. A local team (or the people you think you can pull into a team). 2. Ideas for a venue. 3. Some exciting pictures, to make everyone want to visit your city. From past experience, I can say that running a DebConf can be quite a rewarding (and exhausting) experience. You'll get to bring your Debian friends to your home town, and share your favourite local experiences. It goes a lot better with some help. So the local team really is an important part. Probably *the* most important thing at this point. Looking forward to seeing your bids! SR -- Stefano Rivera http://tumbleweed.org.za/ +1 415 683 3272
