Hi! Back when the initial registration mail was sent, it was decided to charge € 300 for the "Professional" category. At that moment, we didn't really know how much things would cost, so that number was just an estimation that came out of thin air.
Currently, we do know that a shared room with breakfast at FdS costs € 24 the night, which means € 192 for 8 days. This means € 108 not used for accommodation which (in my opinion) should be used for food, and gives us € 13,5 per day for lunch+dinner, which is a very close number to what we were given (we were told € 15 for breakfast+lunch+dinner). Given all this, it seems pretty clear to me that the Professional fee does indeed include food. If it didn't, we would be ripping people off, since the professional fee is supposed to be there only to cover the costs, not to get more money for DebConf However, due to -I think- some misinformation, it has been said that it doesn't. Mainly -again, I think- because there's a webpage which is not clear: http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf9/Sponsorship We will discuss this tomorrow in the IRC meeting, but I'd like to know if there's any other reason I'm not taking into account, not to include food in what's covered by the Professional fee. -- Besos, Marga _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
