CCC uses one single desktop with blackmagic sdi capture cards. This is the only setup that has been used without problems. 2. lca - a week before the event we tested running clients on a remote machine over tcp, discovered problems, which were likely fixed, but we never had time to properly test, so we fell back to DVswitch and only used Vocto a few times under close supervision and I think a blackmagic hdmi capture was part of that. For sure more problems were discovered during these runs, and more patches (this time by core gstreamer devs, to a gstreamer plugin) 3. I am running Vocto here in my livingroom right now /me points at desktop: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz This email editing is happening both on my laptop screen and the Vocto GUI. Once I hit send I will go back to testing the GSOC vga addon board to the Atlys (not Opsis) (10:51:20 AM) rohitksingh: CarlFK: awesome! you are the first one to get it working apart from me, if I recall correctly! :) I am focusing on 720p, so less cpu demands than CCC's 1080p. I am cleaning up and organizing things so that in the next week or so I can do more testing and not be tripping over all the random hacks. For instance, I hope this to be the defacto source client, so if someone can skim the code and comment, or even better use it (it has --test that does not require hardware) https://github.com/CarlFK/voctomix/blob/master/clients/source/ingest.py I plan on using Vocto to record PS1 Lightning talks April 12 and maybe ChiPy talks April 14. I plan on using 2 cameras: old SD DV over firewire and new HD over hdmi -> Opsis -> usb -> ingest.py-> Vocto. April 12 is a hard deadline. I'll report results April 13. -- Carl K
