Disclaimer is I use the slick-greeter package for my login screen. I don't know what other packages declare my login screen's setup. There's a subtle icon next to the text fields for that login. If you click it, the options appear for whichever desktop environments are installed. If someone's using a screenreader on that screen, it would be useful to hear if it easily identifies that icon and its option. I'm using XFCE4, by the way.
