It does not matter actually. What matters is that the user which needs to run Orca has enough permissions to read /etc/brlapi.key. In other words, as your user, cat /etc/brlapi.key should work And of course, if one wants braille on the login screen then the lightdm user should be able to read the key, too. > The only problem is that future upgrade of brlapi will need to be updated > manually to keep this permissions I guess.
