This is something that has been bugging me for some time. Sometime after upgrading to woody, I lost the ability to play mp3's. Well they play but come through garbled. Gnome is able to make proper sounds, so I believe that the hardware is configured correctly. Any areas to investigate would be appreciated.
Here is some output from mpg123. I don't know if that helps or not. It goes on and on about not being able to rewind. mpg123 -cvt washing_machine.mp3 High Performance MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 Audio Player for Layer 1, 2 and 3. Version 0.59r (1999/Jun/15).
