The following web page documents a bug and patch to Samba that corrupts the time stamp on files accessed by Windows machines stored on the samba host. The bug is unique to Alpha machines and is present in all versions of samba. The simple patch has corrected this problem for my Debian/Alpha/Stable machines and should fix all versions of samba on the Alpha.
