Hi!

I installed Debian/Sarge + Updates on a SMP-DS20 (DP264).
The problems encountered:
- The 2.6.8 (IIRC) Kernel-Packages don't work - especially the SCSI
drivers couldn't be loaded so the (only) disk is not found.
With the 2.4 (don't remember the exact version) SMP version,
  everything works fine.
- If I `reboot` the machine, it stops at the same point as with `halt`
and didn't automatically boot up again (one must use the reset
  button).

Makes it sense to compile a recent 2.6 kernel (and which) on myself?

Probably simple to solve but googling around doesn't turn anything
useful up.

        Bernd
