Oh, that's that generic kernel fails to boot on some systems bug. I seem to recall someone saying that the SMP kernel boots. Is that on the install disk? Maybe you can give that a go. Otherwise you will have to build a machine specific kernel. One can do that on current Debian stable with the gcc-alpha-linux-gnu cross compiler package. Cheers Michael.
