I'm pondering buying an Athlon64 machine. However, I wonder why I would need a 64 bits machine. I do not run a server, I don't need more than 4 gigs of RAM. 64 bits apps take more disk space, more RAM. Are apps faster when running in 64 bits mode, compared to a 32 bits machine of the same CPU frequency? Are there any reasons not to stick to 32 bits currently? TIA. -- J�r�me Marant
