Hi Christian, I did a reinstall on the Gigabyte K8NS Pro without the PCI network card, ie. using the onboard Yukon Gigabit 10/100/1000Base-T Adaptor. I can confirm the network driver works. It is sk98lin. The sound module works and is snd_intel8x0. USB works also. I have no Firewire device so I am unable to test that it is working but it recognizes the Texas Instruments TSB43AB23 IEEE-1394a-2000 Controller. I don't know what the scsi driver is but scsi emulation is working.
