Thanks Jacob, but I tried this, plus purging gdm, and still won't allow me to login.....just keeps kicking me back to the login screen with a xsession log error. I even install kdm and it now does the same thing. Xdm the same.
startx /usr/bin/startkde -- :0 is the only command that gets me into my desktop. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Chris W.
