I just put the amd64 kernel on Sarge but the IDE isn't more recognised (only SATA).

Add the ide and floppy modules in your initrd or in /etc/modules

for ide, you should add ide-generic, ide-disk, ide-cd or the specific modules for your chipset depending of your configuration
