Bad connector or cable. - Check on a different system to see if the problem is with the disk or with your pc. - If other system works, check connector on your pc (ie change port). - Change usb cable. - if not done before , connect directly to PC (not via any usb hub) - Bad, but still possible, check Google for known incompatibilities between your storage and Linux.
