Unfortunately I am not able to copy-paste the log.
However, here is what I succeeded to write down (from kmsg):

print versioning info, no error
ide-generic
"klogd[243]: segfault [some addresses] error 6"
then goes successfull description of IDE controlled devices
ide-disk
some info, then
"hda: dma_timer_expiry: dma status == 0xff"

Hmm. Pretty sure I have seen people report that A8N* boards worked
fine, so I would have thought the K8N* boards should work the same.
does dmesg show anything detected when amd74xx is loaded? make sure to
load that before ide-generic or ide-generic will take over (and it
doesn't do dma and would be very very slow).
