It isn't technical. We could easily have upoaded most packages from amd64.debian.net to debian and rebuild the few packages not build by the now official buildd admin. But that is for sid. For etch it would have been nice to upload the core packages from amd64.debian.net and then let britney sort out the rest. The installability check britney does isn't present in amd64.debian.net. > It really isn't as if and64.debian.net is as incompatible as a > Debian-derived distribution like Ubuntu, is it? > > Or have I badly misunderstood something and is there real cause for > concern? Mixing amd64.debian.net and debian.org packages should work. But can you be sure? I bet there are a few freak bugs that only show up when you mix the two repositories. I recommend reinstalling every package when switching to debian.org just to be on the save side. MfG Goswin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
