I have bought myself an AMD Sempron Processor a year ago - this processor does not support ECC memory, so I had to buy non-ECC. Till now I haven't noticed any problems with memory - as I use the testing Debian sometimes some app crashes, but the system itself have never hanged-up nor had any other memory relatred problems.
