If the system is in a working and known state, you can simply do something like

$ ll /dev/disk/by-uuid/
total 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root 10 2008-03-01 04:31 3A5C47515C4706DB -> ../../hda1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root 10 2008-03-01 04:31 9819-26DD -> ../../hda2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root 10 2008-03-01 04:31 a9f40513-902a-4739-a034-2839dac35e65 -> ../../hdb1
