Hi Gudjon,

is it really necessary to run those applications in a chroot ? Why not using 
famous virtualbox or another virtualizer. So you could easily write your code 
and test it on a Debian-System (virtualised) and a RedHat-System, too on the 
same physical hardware. And the advantage: You will not interfere with your 
host system !

Virtualbox for example is running fast and stale, except you need to use 
64-bit applications.
