Subject: htpasswd trashes additional fields
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
User-Agent: Mutt/1.0i

Package: apache-common
Version: 1.3.9-10

When using htpasswd to change a password in a file with extra fields beyond
username/hash, htpasswd discards the extra information for the record being
changed instead of preserving it.

For example, in an example password file "foo.passwd" as follows:
foo1:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo2:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo3:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo4:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo5:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo6:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp

using htpasswd foo.passwd foo2 to change foo2's password will result in the
following password file:

foo1:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo2:neWPasSwdHasH
foo3:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo4:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo5:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo6:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp

instead of the desired result:

foo1:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo2:neWPasSwdHasH:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo3:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo4:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo5:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
foo6:FFxgHwUnMDrNk:baz:quux:bazola:ztesch:gorp
