Hmm, apache2 invokes logrotate weeky, so maybe there's a bug in the logrotate script. I'd change /etc/logrotate/apache2 to: /var/log/apache2/*.log { weekly missingok rotate 52 compress delaycompress notifempty create 640 root adm sharedscripts postrotate if [ -f /var/run/apache2.pid ]; then echo "--- `date` " >> /var/log/apache2/logrotate /etc/init.d/apache2 restart >> /var/log/apache2/logrotate 2>&1 fi endscript } and see what happens.
