Package: apache2-doc
Version: 2.2.3-4+etch1
Severity: important

Hello, It seems that the documentation package for Apache2 will not produce
readable web pages.
Instead, you are presented with a pure text (not html) file of match lists
representing
which index file matches which lang. There is nothing in the file that would
_actually_
match them up. I have been operating webservers since the CERN days, and with
well over
200 domains and all the hosts that go along with then, I can assure you that
this Apache
install is configured correctly. :)

Thank you for all your time and consideration in this matter.

P.S. I suppose that this should be considered a fairly important issue, given
that
_new_ users _should_ be able to figure out how to make their new web server
work. ;)

Thanks again

You have filed a bug against the Debian Etch version of apache2. The
bug is fixed in the current developement version of the apache2
package but was not considered severe enough to warrant an update in
Debian Etch. Since the support for Debian Etch is ending, I am closing
the bug now.
