The issue has just been fixed in Apache ( http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1679181) and a backport has been proposed for Apache 2.4.x; it would be very nice if this could be included... otherwise using MySQL with Apache 2.4's authorization scheme is simply... undoable...
