Greetings. I installed 3.0.24 (3.0r3) on a Simtec Chalice-CATS board. Everything works fine, except I couldn't make XFree86 work. I tried with two different S3 based video cards. The X server concludes that both card have zero video memory, so there are no valid modes, and gives up. I have tried specifying in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 the amount of VideoRam, but to no avail.
Has anyone made X on cats work? What hardware/software combination should I shoot for? Thanks, Julian
